A Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed between the Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation and the Ukrainian Association of District and Regional Councils.

On December 13, a Memorandum was signed between the Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation and the Ukrainian Association of District and Regional Councils, establishing the basis for collaboration to strengthen the energy independence of critical infrastructure objects in Ukraine and involving local self-government bodies.

Under the Memorandum, the Foundation and the Association will jointly work to promote and support the implementation of charitable campaigns "100SolarSchools" and "50SolarHospitals," initiated by the Foundation to enhance the energy independence of medical institutions and secondary educational establishments in Ukraine by providing access to backup generation sources and energy storage based on renewable energy sources.

The parties have also declared the development and implementation of joint initiatives to increase awareness of local self-government bodies in renewable energy.

"The synergy between the foundation and local self-government bodies is our joint step towards energy independence and green recovery in Ukraine. By strengthening each other, we can achieve our goal - equip 150 critical infrastructure objects across the country and give the green light to sustainable development and green values at the community level," noted Yuliana Onishchuk, Founder and President of the "Energy Act for Ukraine" Foundation.

"Russian terrorists are attempting to destroy our social and critical infrastructure, our energy facilities. Unfortunately, the past year has shown how important it is to have alternative energy sources. Therefore, the Foundation's mission is correct and socially significant - to enhance the energy independence of medical and educational facilities, which are, in particular, owned by local self-government bodies. Moreover, district councils play a crucial coordinating role in such cooperation," emphasized Serhiy Levchuk, Head of the Secretariat of the Association.
