Cooperation with GIZ IKI

We are pleased to announce that our charitable foundation Energy Act for Ukraine has joined the project ‘Renewable Energy for Sustainable Ukraine’, which is being implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German government. Within the framework of this cooperation, rooftop solar power plants will be built at an educational institution in Khmelnytsky region, a medical facility in Rivne region, and for utilities in Kyiv, Kirovohrad, and Vinnytsia regions.

The objectives of the Renewable Energy for Sustainable Ukraine project include:

  1. Promoting the development of decentralised renewable energy systems in Ukrainian communities.

  2. Creating renewable energy projects in communities to demonstrate the effectiveness of these systems.

  3. Raising awareness of the economic and environmental benefits of these energy systems and promoting their scaling up.

  4. Increasing the capacity of local authorities to implement renewable energy projects.

The relevance of this cooperation lies in the fact that Ukraine's energy sector has suffered significant damage due to Russian aggression, and renewable energy sources (RES) are the solutions that will ensure recovery and energy efficiency in Ukraine. Now and in the post-war period, green energy should become one of the main sectors in the country's development. That is why we are pleased to be involved in a project that brings Ukraine closer to energy independence and promotes the use of solar energy globally.GIZ is the German Society for International Cooperation, which implements numerous initiatives on behalf of the German government. One of these initiatives is the International Climate Initiative (IKI).The project ‘Renewable Energy for Sustainable Ukraine’ is implemented by a consortium of NGOs: Energy Act For Ukraine Foundation, Ecoclub, Ecodiya, and RePower Ukraine.
